MATERIALS - The timber is kiln dried, first quality, individually hand selected and used to its best advantage.
OAK "FRENCH" - is very hard and stable, is light in colour and has a very interesting and figured grain.
MAPLE "AMERICAN HARD ROCK" - This Maple is very hard and is extremely light in colour. It has a subtle grain which allows the eye to focus more on the cabinetry. It is slightly more expensive than Oak.
BIRCH - is used in the carcases. It is very smooth, close-grained, flat and stable. Far superior to chipboard or MDF in that it is unaffected by water, "holds screws well" and does not degenerate or weaken over time. (Two pack finish)
FINISHES - One of the most important aspects of the kitchen is the finish. We use a "two-pack" lacquer or paint, which is the most hardwearing and water resistant finish available, also providing a strong bond with the timber. It will protect and keep your kitchen looking new for many years. Your wood kitchen can be lacquered, natural or stained. The finished woodwork is very smooth to the touch, even on end grain. Wax and oil, is in our opinion, inadequate for a kitchen, but is available if requested. |
